2012 CNN Heroes Award winner Nepali social worker Pushpa Basnet is crowned the CNN Super Hero award in 2016.
Pushpa Basnet is the founder of Early Childhood Development Center in Kathmandu, which is a non profit organisation.
She has been working for Better life for the children whose parents are behind the bars. She believes they the children don’t deserve to suffer because of their parent.
Basnet’s organisation provides housing, education, medical services and meals to children.
There are 37 children in her organisation and she provides them with regular medical check-ups, vaccinations, and enrolls them in local private school while giving them the opportunity to meet their mothers during holidays.

She has won this award through online voting. Voting were held on CNNHeros.com, through Facebook Messenger, on the CNN Heros Facebook page and Twitter.
CNN is regularly promoting these superhero whose remarkable humanitarian work are making difference in communities, a step forward to help.

Basnet also received $50,000 for winning the Super Hero title.
