Nepal secured a spot in the Saff U19 Championship 2023 semi-finals by defeating the Maldives U-19 team on Monday. The young Nepali team triumphed with a score of 4-1 in a match held at Dasharath Stadium.
The Nepalese squad took an early lead, with midfielder Prashant Laksam scoring a remarkable long-range goal from outside the box in the 17th minute. Samir Tamang made significant contributions, scoring two goals for Nepal: one through a solo run in the midfield and the other with a header.
As a result of this victory, the Nepal U-19 football team secured the 2nd position in Group A. They are now set to face India U19 in the semi-finals of the Saff U19 Championship 2023.
The semi-final match between India U-19 and Bhutan U-19 is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 PM Nepali time and will be available for live streaming on the SportzWorkz YouTube channel.
